About the Artwork

Deep Connection is an original watercolour painting portraying a shiver of Scalloped Hammerhead Sharks. The piece was created for Oceanic 31, a collaborative initiative with the Shark Trust. The project seeks to showcase the diverse array of oceanic species whose existence is on the verge of extinction. As apex predators, sharks play a critical role in maintaining equilibrium in the marine ecosystem. Yet this iconic species, and many others, are disappearing from our ocean at an alarming rate as a result of human interference.

Through Deep Connection, you are beckoned to behold these majestic creatures and experience the profound sense of connection felt when in their presence. Using art as a catalyst, this piece calls viewers to action to advocate for the protection of these vulnerable species and inspire positive change. 

The original watercolour will be sold at the For the Love of Sharks event in November 2024 with 100% of profits going directly towards Shark Conservation.
